Margaret B. Williams, 96, of Laramie, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at her home. She was born March 13, 1913 in Laramie, the daughter of David M. and Emma M. (Brower) Blair.
She grew up in Laramie where she attended schools, graduating from Laramie High School in 1930. She then attended the University of Wyoming where she received a BS degree in 1936. While attending the university, she married Joseph Williams in 1933.
They lived in Moorcroft where Joe taught school, then moved to Douglas for five years before returning to Laramie where her husband taught school and later was assistant dean of the College of Education at the University of Wyoming. After his death in 1950, she began teaching at Laramie High School. Her expertise was in the field of business which she taught for 27 years, retiring in 1977.
Her hobbies included volunteer work at Invinson Memorial Hospital, fishing, golf, playing bridge, reading, crocheting and all sports.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, active in the United Methodist Women, AARP and the Salvation Army where she served as board secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph B. Williams of West field, Ind., and John P. Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three nieces.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeff Rainwater officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m.-noon at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.
