Alex B. Stevenson, 86, a retired farmer, died at his home on Rock Springs-Corydon Road at 8:40 p.m. Monday.
Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy at home, Mrs. Leo (Blanche) Sellars of Route 2, and Mrs. Rosie Ellsworth of Corydon; three sons, Walter (Dink) and Herbert at home, and James (Whit) of Cairo; a sister, Mrs. Pansy Smith of Detroit; eight grandchildren; an eight great-grandchildren.

Walter A. "Dink" Stevenson, 56, died at 12:48 a.m. Friday at the veteran's hospital in Louisville. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Stevenson, Mrs. Leo Sellars and Rosie Ellsworth, and two brothers, Herbert and James Whit, all of Henderson County, nieces and nephews.

Corwin Dean "C. D." Stewart, 73, of rural Pickrell, died at his home on Tuesday morning, Oct. 3, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 7, 1933, at Powell, and graduated from Beatrice High School. On Jan. 28, 1962, he married Delores Reiber at the Hanover Presbyterian Church of Glenvil. They moved to the western part of Nebraska in 1970 and lived in the panhandle for 32 years before moving to Pickrell. C. D. was a tture cattleman and worked in the cattle feeding industry until he retired from Dinklage Feedyard Inc. in 1999. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Pickrell. He enjoyed woodworking, horses, western movies, cook-outs and family gatherings.
Survivors includes his wife, Delores "Dee" of Pickrell; three sons, Jimmy Stewart of Beatrice, Timothy Stewart and wife Joy of Cardington, Ohio, and Stacey Stewart and wife Carrie of Beatrice; one daughter, Stephanie Wallman and husband Paul of Pickrell; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Gwen Zimmerman of Beatrice; several nieces and nephews. He was preced in death by his parents, Corwin L. and Alice (Warnke) Stewart; one sister, Janis Stevens; and parents-in-law, Reuben and Lena Reiber.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the United Methodist Church of Pickrell, with the Rev. Mary Ellen Gaither officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery of Pickrell. A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church of Pickrell with Melvin and Faye Winkle in charge. A guest book will be available for signatures at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield streets, Beatrice, until 9 p.m Thursday, and then at the church one hour preceding the services on Friday. "Stewarts are Honored on Anniversary"
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Stewart entertained at a family dinner April 1st in celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary which was March 29th.
Centering the table was a two-tiered white cake trimmed with silver and topped with the miniature bride and groom used at the wedding 25 years ago. Two silver candles flanked the cake.
Guests were their children, Corwin Dean and Janis at home, Mr. and Mrs Marvin Bahe and their children, Bobby and Gwendolyn of Beatrice; W. S. Stewart and Vada Weier of Daykin; Mr. and Mrs Jesse Thrasher of Fairbury; Mr. and Mrs. Norval Stewart of Fairfield; Mrs. Jenny Warnke and Sophia Warnke of Lincoln. Other relatives were afternoon and evening guests.
Bouquests of mixed flowers decorated the room. A corsage and boutonniere of white carnations were given to the hostess by their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs Marvin Bahe. Many gifts and cards were received.

"Corwin Stewarts observe their golden anniversary"
The children of Corwin and Alice Stewart hosted a gold wedding anniversary open house for their parents at their home in Beatrice on Sunday, March 28.
Their three children and their families were in attendence. They are Mr. Gwen Bahe and husband Marvin of O'Neill, Corwin D. Stewart, his wife, Dee and four of their children, Jim, Tim, Stephanie and Stacy from Bayard, and Mrs. Janis Stevens, her husband, Lyle and sons, Bob, Scott and Craig from Beatrice. Their granddaughter, Gwenneth Nelson, husband Don and son Jason were present as was Bill Stewart, brother of Mr. Stewart, who was best man at their wedding. Greetings were received from grand-sons, Dirk Stewart and Bob Bahe, his wife and two sons who were unable to attend.
Daughter Gwen Bahe greeted the guests, Janis Stevens and granddaughter, Gwenneth Nelson served. Mints for the occasion were made by Mrs. Bahe.
A photo album was made up of all members of the family, and it and the floral centerpiece of yellow football mums and carnations were gifts from their children.
Mrs. Stewart wore a yellow orchid corsage and Mr. Stewart a boutonniere of a yellow sweetheart rose.
Mr. and Mrs Stewart were married in Red Clloud on March 29, 1926. They spent the first years of their marriage near Daykin. In 1945 the family moved to Beatrice where Mr. Stewart went to work for Dempster Mill Mfg Co. He retired in 1971 after 26 years of service. He now enjoys gardening. Mrs. Stewart has served as a cook and waitress in several Beatrice establishments over the years. She now works part-time at Henry's Bowl and in the summer enjoys taking care of her flower garden.
