GREENWICH, Conn., August 13--Jouett Parker Singleton, who for thirty-three years was an official of the Niagara Fire Insurance Company as manager of its Western department as well as in a legal capacity, died at his home here today at the age of 74.
Mr. Singleton was born at Columbia, Mo., son of Edwin Lewis and Mary Jouett Stockton Singleton of Fleming County, Ky. He married Miss Nellie Fitch of Louisville, Ky., where they lived for a number of years, later moved to Evanston, Ill., and going to live in New York city in 1917. His widow, who survives, is an official of the Southern Women's Educational Alliance.
A son, Lieutenant Jouett Fitch Singleton, was killed in action during the second battle of the Marne in June, 1918. Another son, Edwin Lewis Singleton, who is associated with the Stafford Realty Company in New York, survives. Parents: Edwin Lewis SINGLETON and Mary Edward STOCKTON.

Timothy Sisk was a native of North Carolina. He emigrated to Kentucky with his parents, at an early period, and settled in Hopkins County. Here he united with the Flat Creek, the oldest church in Hopkins County, it having been constituted in 1803. Mr. Sisk was license to preach, by this church, in 1819, where also he was soon afterward ordained. As his church went to the constitution of the Highland Association the same year he was licensed to preach, most of his ministry was spent in that fraternity. In 1835, he dissented from tht body on account of its intolerance to missions, and, the next year, became identified with the Little Bethel Association. But his connection with this fraternity was short. Before its first anniversary meeting, in 1837, he had gone to his final reward. He is said to have been a good, useful preacher.

Asahel was said to be one of the largest land owners in Swan Township (considering his acreage in Iowa). He came to Swan Twp in 1836 and taught in the first school and helped build the first school building. The next winter he moved to Greenbush Twp and taught there for a year. He continued school teaching for 11 years. In 1838 he and his brother Cyrus bought a half section of improved land (one quarter of which was in timber) on section 29. He built a home there when he married Henrietta in 1841. He was justice of the peace for four years and the first treasurer of Swap Twp.
