"Princeton Pair Die As Car Hits Tree"
Mrs. Jane A. McGrath, 32, of 162 Marlboro Road, Princeton, and Keith Simpson, 31, of Austin, Tex., were fatally injured when Mrs. McGraths car went out of contron on the Princeton-Rosedale Road and smashed into a tree. Simpson reportedly was studying for his doctorate in Princeton. He lived at 30 Wescott Road in Princeton.
Mrs. McGrath was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician from Princeton Hospital. Simpson died at the hospital an hour and 10 minutes after he had been extricated from the tangled wreckage of the light car. The accident occurred at 12:05 a.m.
Simpson was the son of a Texas couple who have been vacationing in Acapulco, Mexico, and were enroute home. Police have been attempting to contact them to notify them of the death.
Apparently Mrs. McGrath was driving when the mishap occurred.
Mrs. McGrath was estranged from her husband, John McGrath, of 151 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, who is in New York after suffering a heart attack. The couple had two sons, Kyle, 8, and Tracy, 10.
