Charles R. Sandy, a resident of Forest Grove for about the past 12 years, passed away at his home Thursday, May 4, and the funeral services were conducted in Forest Grove Tuesday afternoon. . Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City.
The family formerly lived in Oregon City and West Linn, coming to Oregon City in May 1917. Mr. Sandy who was born January 28, 1872, at Sandyville, Iowa, was married in Plattsmouth, Neb. He also lived in Weiser, Idaho, before coming to Oregon.
Survivors include a son, Frank Sandy of Hillsboro, and two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Stowell of Forest Grove and Mrs. Helen Smith of New Meadows, Idaho. Mrs. Sandy passed away in January of this year, and two daughters preceded their parents in death by drowning in August 1917.
