Mrs. Elizabeth Penelope Blair died at her home on Fourth street at about noon Sunday. Her death was due to heart failure. She had not been in as good health as usual the past few months, but nothing serious seemed to be ailing her. A failing of her strength was her only complaint. Sunday morning she stated that she felt as well as usual and had had a good rest on Saturday night.
At noon, Sunday, a neighbor went in to see her. Mrs. Blair was found dea on a lounge. She evidently had lain down and gone to sleep and never awakened from it.
Mrs. Blair lived by herself in one side of the residence on Fourth Street. Her son E. K. Blair, and his family resided on the other side. Her son and his family kept a close watch upon her at all times and gave careful attention to her welfare. She would have been 79 years old next September. She is survived by three sons, U. S. Blair, of Washington, PA., Rev. J. W. Blair of Johnstown, Ohio, and E. K. Blair of this city. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Harris of Bellaire, and Miss Massie Riley of Weegee, Ohio, and one brother, Sanson Riley of St. Clair Ohio. Her maiden named was Elizabeth P. Riley. she was born in Weegee, Ohio, but after her marriage to Rev. J. M. Blair, she resided in this county. For many years she resided on Blairs Ridge, but of recent years lived in this city.
Rev. J. M. Blair, her husband, died six years ago, and one son, S. B. Blair, died several years ago, both of whom are buried at the church yard at Blairs Ridge.
