He is a son of Jacob A. Rudy, who was born in Jefferson County, and when a boy moved with his parents to Henderson County. he was married to Miss Mary J. Wright in McLean County, then Daviess County. They then settled in McLean County, where Mr. Rudy still resides. Mrs. Rudy died June 27, 1880. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. Jacob A. Rudy has held various offices of trust in McLean County; was Sheriff of the coutny two terms. He and wife had three sons and one daughter, Charles, subject of this sketch, being the youngest. He attended schools in McLean County until fifteen, when he was selected as a delegate to Center College at Danville, Ky.
