Jane C. Pence, age 94, a residence of Colorado Springs since the early 1930s, passed away on Tuesday, Mary 23, 2006, at her son's home in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and Glen Eyrie Chapter 8 of the Order of the Easter Star.
Jane was born on April 5, 1912 near Paducah, KY, to John D. and Effie S. Pease.
She attended the Beth El School of Nursing in Colorado Springs and married Russell F. Pence on March 22, 1936. Mr. Pence passed away in May of 1985. She is survived by two sons: Frank (wife, Mina) Pence and Roy Pence both of Colorado Springs.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Earl Pence, John Pence, Diana Gagliardi, Joyce Hicks and John Gomes. There are also eight great-grandchildren: Angela Gomers, Jerad Pence, Randi Lee Girouard, Ashley Lynn Lawson, Sheene Pence, Ashley Pence, Robert Gagliardi and Anthony Gagliardi.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Maude Mithell, Lucy Downs and Nettie Marin; and by three brothers, Floyd Pease, Forrest Pease and Stephen Silvester Pease.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Private entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.

Merlin Donald Peck, 65, Walker, MO, finished his earthly course at 3:50 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the University Hospital, Columbia, MO, following an enormous fight with cancer, and leaves many friends there amongst the staff who came to know and love him. He was born on April 8, 1943, in Fullerton, NE, to Oliver Donald Peck and Margaret Clara Witzel Peck.
Merlin grew up on farms in Nebraska and Missouri and attended high school in Saint Edward, NE. He received his GED through home schooling and entered the Air Force where he served most of his enlistment time at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita, TX.
He married Goldie Bonnelle "Bonnie" James on March 23, 1965, in Miami, OK, and she survives of the home. To this union were born Candra Kathleen and Jeffrey Donald. the family was to be blessed again by the addition of Tiffany Diane in 1983. Merlin and Bonnie were blessed with seven grandchildren.
Merlin and Bonnie began their 43 year walk together by moving to the El Dorado Springs, MO, area where Merlin became a self-employed milk hauler and family man. This began a long trucking career through which Merlin traveled through numerous states, met and touched the lives of many people with his deeply entrenched dry sense of humor which endeared him to those who knew him. The Pecks have since lived in Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Colorado, and once again Missouri where they cared for Merlin's aged parents.
Through the years Merlin was faithful in serving the Lord, not only in the church, but in the lives he touched, often extending a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. His wife and children looked up to him as a strong, determined giant of a man who could be depended upon.
Survivors in addition to Bonnie include his children, Candra K. Clowers, Pueblo, CO, Jeffrey D. Peck, Colorado Springs, CO, Tiffany D. Ellegood, Colby, KS; one sister, Vernetta S. Saatoff, Flower Mount, TX, seven grandchildren, Amanda Higer, Nicholas Higer, Allie Ellison, Brittany Ellegood, Max Ellegood, Bailey Ellegood and Trinity Ann Peck as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver D. Peck on August 22, 2007, and his mother Margaret Clara (Witzel) Peck on July 5, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Nevada Assembly of God Church with Pastor Michael Puckett offication. Cremation will follow.
