ULYSSES-Edward Nathaniel Norris, 87, died March 4, 2008, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses.
He was born May 10, 1920, in La Veta, Colo, the son of Edward Calvin and Lela Clifford Wright Norris. A resident of Ulysses, he retired from Colorado Interstate Gas after 35 years working as a welder and pipeline inspector.
He was a member of Colorado Springs Elks Lode No. 309, Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, driving trucks and loading bombs and torpedoes on aircraft. He served from 1941 to 1945.
One Dec. 26, 1941, he married Nora Palmer. She died June 20, 1967. On Feb. 19, 19868, he married Ora Lee Houdyshell. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Susan K. Mathill, Hugo, Colo; two stepsons, Daniel P. Houdyshell, Ulysses, and Michael A. Houdyshell, Keyes, Okla; a stepdaughter, Brenda L. Cook, Rock Springs, Wyo.; two sisters, Marjorie Kinnard, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Virginia Schaffer, Denver; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas E.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. MT Monday in Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pueblo, Colo., with the Rev. Sam Byrnurm presiding. Military rites will be conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard and burial rites will be conducted by Colorado Springs Elks Lodtge No. 309. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garmand Funderal Home, Ulysses.

Know all men by these presents that I, Moses Norris of the town of Rolla, county of Phelps and State of Missouri being in ill health and of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills made by me at any time made.
First I hereby constitute and appoint K. D. Norris my wife to be soul executor of this my last will directing my said executrix to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and the legacies herein after mentioned out of my estate.
Second I direct my executrix K. D. Norris to make all of all my mules (numbering four) and of all my cattle (numbering five cows and two calves) as soon as convenient not to reduce the estate and with the proceeds thereof and fifty dollars now in the hand in cash to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and so much as shall remain after my debts and funeral expenses are paid shall be equally divided between my lawful heirs. John H. Norris, Sarah Louisa Miller, and Mary Frances Pennington respectively share and share alike and I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife K. D. Norris all my real estate and personal property consisting of one lot in the town of Rolla and county of Phelps and State of Missouri together with my dwelling house and kitchen and the furniture there unto belonging all Bureaus, beds, safes and bedstead and bed covers and all cooking utensils and all so the outhouses and barn and all grain there in. I give and bequeath unto my wife as long as she remains unmarried and my widow with remainder thereof on her decease or marrying to equally divide between myh said childrren and their heirs respective shares and share alike. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal & published this to be my last will and testament, in the presence of witnesses below named, 23rd Sept 1865
