Mr. Martin was born Oct. 10, 1906, in Boone County to Walter and Laura Frances Strode Martin. He married Wilmoth Crane on March 18, 1926, and she preceded him in death. He later married Exie Hunt Moreau on Sept. 12, 1973, and she also preceded him in death.
He was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer and later was employed as a carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Billy Joe Martin of Columbia; a daughter, Jean Crowson of Columbia; a stepdaughter, Maxine Collins of Camdenton, a brother, Carl Martin of Ashland; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
