Our parents purchased the cottage next to our grandparents' cottage in Maine in 1946, and thereinafter we spent all our summers at Drakes Island. Above all mother exemplified kindness; she listened to people thus so many loved her. She was an artist all her life specializing in seascapes of her beloved Maine coast and portraits. She explored pottery, weaving, and many other art forms.
