Funeral for Florence J. Chappell, 89, a retired school teacher who died Friday in a Portland nursing home, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Chappell, who was born near Heppner, moved with her family to Portland in 1903. She was graduated from the University of Oregon in 1913. She taught school in Washington and Oregon. Her husband, John E. Chappell, who died in 1939, was a Washington senator, and Goldendale, Wash. businessman.
She is survived by a son, John of Portland; daughters, Joy Myers and Florence Bowe, both of Portland, and Grace Melvin of Roseburg; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Anne Juvinall Pollitt, of Oakwood, passed away on July 24, 2009, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home.
Dorothy was born on 3 Sep 1929, in Danville, the daughter of David and Hattie Juvinall.
She is survived by sons Bobby Carpenter of Florida, Randy Carpenter, Darrell Carpenter and Terry Carpenter of Danville. Also surviving are borthers Harold Juvinall of Tacoma, Washih., Phillip Juvinall of Danville and Ron Juvinall of Windsor, Calif.; and a sister, Linda Dorsett of Marina, Calif.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Dianne Price, and two husbands, Wilbur Divan and Howard Pollitt. She also was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Dorothy or "Doodleburg" as she was lovingly called by her siblings, worked at Bohn Aluminum and for many years in the meat departments for Kroger, IGA and A&P. She loved cooking big meals for her family and mushrooming.
A memorial service was held at Pape Funeral Home on Monday, July 27, 2009.
As per her wishes, she was cremated and her ahes were buried with her husband Howard Pollitt at Danville National Cemetery. Parents: David Henry JUVINALL and Hattie Mae KESTER.

SALINAS, Calif.--Linda Marilyn Dorset, nee Juvinall, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Salinas, Calif., after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Linda was born Feb. 8, 1937, in Danville, to Mr. David Henry Juvinall and Hattie Mae Kester Juvinall.
She was predeceased by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by brothers, Harold Juvinall in Des Moines, Wash., Phillip Juvinall in Danville, and Ronald Juvinall in Modesto, Calif.
Linda grew up in Danville and went to Washington Grade School, where she won the Vermilion County Spelling Bee in 1951. Linda graduated from Danville High School with honors in 1955 and wrote the music for her senior class son.
After high school, she moved to Los Angeles and spent four years at L.I.F.E. Bible college, attaining her ministerial credentials. She met her future husband, Stanley Dorsett, at L.I.F.E. and the were married on Feb. 7, 1960, in Covina, Calif., at the Foursquare Church.
Linda and Stanley were blessed with three children, Margaret Ruth, Cynthia Elizabeth (James Anthony Adams) and David Allen (Gayle Renae Elrod) Dorsett, and several grandchildren.
She and Stan and their family moved several times, finally settling on the California coast near Monterey.
Along with raising her three children, Linda worked in various jobs outside the home, last working as a data processor for Montery County Probation Department for more than 18 years.
Linda was the organist at just about every church Stan ministered. She was an avid reader, loved watching movies and attending live theater.
There were no services, and per her wishes, Linda was cremated.

Arnold Henry Kahlstorf, age 95, of Park Rapids, formerly of Lake George, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 1999, at the Heritage Living Center, Park Rapids, MN.
Arnold was born on July 24, 1930, to Henry and Mary (Meyer) Kahlstorf in Hancock, MN. The family moved to the Lake George area when Arnold was 2 years old. It was in the area that he attended school and grew into manhood. Arnold was united in marriage to Velda Powel on Mary 10, 1933. This union was blessed with five children: Donald, Rachel, Mary, Vienna and Wanda. Arnold engaged in farming, raising milk cows, sheep and other animals. At this same time, he started a logging company in the Lake George-Laporte area. In 1948, Arnold married Georgianna Vondell. To this union two children were born: James and Ed. He continued living on his farm where he raised beef cattle for many years as well as continuing to farm the land. His son, Jim, continued to live with him and helped on the farm as did his son, Donald, who lived nearby. When Arnold became too ill to handle the many tasks of farming, Jim and Donald took over for their father. Arnold then moved to the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. He was very active in the Free Methodist Church at Kabekona, where he and his family had many relatives and friends.
