Joseph Worcester (Bill) Lindsley, III, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2012 following a brief illness. He was surrounded by loved ones as he made his transition into his new life with Christ.
He was born to Joseph Worcester Lindsley, Jr. and Dorothy (Branch) Lindsley on June 24, 1930 in Dallas, where he continued to reside throughout his life. He attended Highland Park High School and SMU. One summer he fought forest fires in Yosemite National Forest. After graduating, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served for two years; after which time, he became the third generation to join his family's real estate business, J. W. Lindsley, Inc., which he continued to run until his death in 1954 (?) He met his loving wife Edgerley at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. They married in 1956, and were blessed to spend their lives with each other. As a member of the church, he served as Deacon and Elder and was active with the children's ministry. He is preceded in death by his wife, Edgerley (Clark) Lindsley, who died last month and his brother, Robert Marshall (Bob) Lindsley who died in 2010. He is survived by his children, Clark Edward Lindsley of Houston, TX and Carolyn Elizabeth (Lindsley) Morchower of Valley Village, CA, his daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Lindsley and Glenn Morchower and his grandchildren, Samantha, Grant and Joshua Lindsley and Grey and Emily Morchower.
A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church.

J." Lingerfelt, Samuel Lingerfelt and Rev. John B. Link, 90 years of age and a Confederate veteran of the Civil War, died Wednesday morning at 10:15 at his home in the Link's Grove section after an illness of lagrippe. He was born on November 22, 1845 and was one of the oldest citizens of the county. He is survived by two sons, T. T. Link of Slaughters and O. S. Link of Link's Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Verble Dennis, Mrs. J. H. Cates and Miss Katie Link of Link's Grove; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service was conducted Thursday afternoon at the Vandersburg church with the Rev. S. D. Edwards of Hanson in charge. Honorary pallbearers were John Winstead, J. P. SOUTH BOSTON--Funeral services for Joseph Lamberth Link, Sr., will be held today at 2 p.m. at Alton Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Link, of Alton, died Thursday at his home.
He was born in Halifax County, June 10, 1887, a son of John F. Link and Mary Green Link, and was married to the former Sally Ramsey, who survives him. A retired farmer, he was a member of Alton Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ruth L. Wilkins of Alton; one son, Joe L. Link, Jr. of Alton; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Beadles of Richmond, Mrs. Pattie Wright of Lawrenceville and Mrs. Ruth Lake of Charlotte, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
The body will be at Brooks Funeral Home until noon today. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Link, Jr. at Alton. "Lucian N. Link Veteran World Ward Died Today"
Lucian Noel Link world war veteran and a member of the local fire department died this morning at two o'clock, at his home 140 Benefield street. Mr. Link had been for several months at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington but returned to his home last Friday.
He was born in Halifax county thirty-five years ago and for eighteen years he has resided in Danville. At the outbreak of the World War he became a meber of Battery E, a Danville organization and was in the service twenty-three months, part of which was spent in France.
In 1923, he married Miss Ethel Drewry, of this city, who survives him with a daughter, G--- Marie Link, nine months. Mr. Link is also survived by his father, John F. Link, of Alton, Va., a brother, Joseph Link, and a sister, Miss Thelma Link, of Alton, and also by two other sisters, Mrs. Prince Wright of White Plains, and Mrs. P. M. Link, of Lawrenceville, Va.
Mr. Link was a member of Ramah Masonic Lodge and a member of Calvary Methodist church. He was an upright Christian man, whose life commended him to many friends. The funeral service will be conducted from Calvary church on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. J. S. Gresham assisted by Rev. C. E. Johnson, and the interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
