In 1922, Keith accepted a position at the University of South Dakota as professor of Greek, Latin and Fine Arts. he remained in that position until his death in February 1942.
Dr. Keith was also an avid genealogist and much of his research was published. He and his wife Mabel had three children, none of whom survived childhood.
The Arthur Leslie Keith Collections is made up of material Dr. Keith composed during his academic years. Most were written during his tenure at the University of South Dakota and Carlton College. The material focus on the Greek and Roman culture.
