Mr. and Mrs. Edgar F. Howe announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Helen Howe, to Philip Bradford Chase of New York, son of Mrs. Clement Chase of Ashokan, N.Y. and the late Mr. Chase, pioneer Omaha family.
The wedding will take place September 29 at Brooklyn, N. W., at the Plymouth church. Miss Howe's parents; her brother, Donald Howe, and Mrs. Howe of this city, and her sister, Miss Marian Howe, who attends Smith college, will be present at the ceremony, as will also Mr. Chase's mother; his brother, Clement Chase, and Mrs. Chase of Wayne, Pa.; and his sister, Mrs. Sebastian Hinton of Chicago. Another sister, Mrs. Harry McClure Johnson and Mr. Johnson of Chicgo will now be able to attend.
Miss Howe is numbered among Omaha's brilliant students. She attended Central high, Brandford academy and the University of Nebraska, joing the Delta Gamma at the latter place. She took up the study of subnormal psychology at the Training School at Vineland, N. J., and from there went to Baltimore where she studied under Dr. Esther L. Richards and Dr. Adolph Meyer at the Johns Hopkins hospital. Until early summer when she returned home, Miss Howe has been taking a special course in psychiatric social work at the New York school of social work. She will continue that work this winter and will receive her diploma next August.

Adeline Howle Stevens, 92, of Richmond, the daughter of Adeline Green Howle and Dr. Paul Williamson Howle, passed away December 22, 2004. She was the wife of the late portrait painter, Hugo Osterhaus Stevens. During WWII, she served as a Red Cross volunteer. She also served on the Board of Children's Hospital and Retreat Hospital. she was a member of the St. Catherine's School Class of 1931 and was a member of the Junior League.
