Mrs. Martha Enolia Foster, beloved wife of J. Tom Foster, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lily Foster Wallace, October 3, 1926, aged seventy three years, four months and twenty five days. Her death was caused by a stroke of paralysis, sustained a few days before her death. On Tuesday, October 5, after a beautiful and fitting service at the Christain church in this place, conducted by Rev. Athetson, of the Christian church, and by Star of Hope Chapter, O.E.S., her remains were borne to Hebron Cemetery and tenderly laid to rest. The church was filled with relatives and friends during the services, and may tear-stained faces and many beautiful floral tributes, bore mute testimony to the esteem in which she was held.
Mrs. Foster, had been an active consistent, useful member of the Christian church, since 1968. She was a woman of high character A wife in the highest and best sense of that term; a loving, solicitous mother and a friend and neighbor of the most unselfish type. Thirty and more years ago the writer was a frequent guest in her home, and the hospitality dispensed there, and the Christian atmosphere of that home shall never be forgotten.
Since those days, one of her sons and two of her daughters, have been called from life's arduous labors, and while their going grieved her beyond expression, she bore her sorrow with true Christian fortitude. To her children we extend our deepest sympathy in their loss which is very great. They have lost their best their most faithful friend.
To the bereaved husband we extend our sympathy in his great sorrow. At his advanced age, his loss is irreparable. Since September 15th, 1869, his wife has been by his side. She shared his joy and comforted him in his sorrows. Together they trod the pathway of life, and in the closing hours of life's long day, when the infirmities of many, many years came upon the aged husband, death, the fell destroyer of all, summoned the faithful wife and mother in the presence of her God, in those glorious mansions not made of hands.
"We shall part but not forever,
There will be a glorious dawn;
We shall meet to part no never
In the resurrection morn"
